This set of markets tracks how many touchdowns are scored by players catching passes in an upcoming college football game. The outcomes depend on whether specific teams reach certain thresholds of receiving touchdowns during the match. All markets consider only touchdowns scored by the offensive player who initially caught the pass, with additional conditions for fumble recoveries and game timing.
All markets resolve based on the total number of receiving touchdowns scored by either Indiana or Rutgers in their game scheduled for October 3, 2026, counting any touchdowns scored in overtime. A receiving touchdown is defined as one scored by the player who caught the pass, including cases where the same player recovers their own fumble and scores, but excluding touchdowns scored by another player after recovering a fumble from the original receiver. Successful two-point conversions, whether in regulation or overtime, do not count toward any market outcome. If the game is postponed but commences within 48 hours of its original scheduled start time, all markets remain open and resolve according to the final official result. If the game fails to start within this 48-hour window, all markets resolve to a fair price. Prediction market odds often reflect the collective wisdom of a diverse group of traders, and can sometimes differ from those offered by traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and to balance action, while this market is driven purely by individuals willing to put their capital behind their beliefs. It’s common to see discrepancies, especially before a significant amount of trading occurs. However, as the event approaches, the prices in this market tend to converge with sportsbook odds as more information is incorporated by both groups.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism. Traders buy and sell contracts representing different outcomes, and the price of each contract reflects the probability of that outcome occurring, as perceived by the market participants. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price is determined by supply and demand; if more people believe Indiana will score a certain number of touchdowns, the price of that outcome will rise, and vice versa. This dynamic pricing allows the market to quickly incorporate new information and adjust expectations as the event draws nearer.
This market resolves around Oct 4, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The final number of receiving touchdowns scored by each team in the Indiana vs Rutgers game will be used to determine which contracts pay out. The resolution will be based on official game statistics, and any disputes will be handled according to Kalshi’s standard procedures. Traders should monitor official sources for the final results to understand the outcome of this market.
Several factors could influence the price of contracts in this market. Any news regarding injuries to key players on either the Indiana or Rutgers teams – particularly wide receivers or quarterbacks – would likely have a significant impact. Changes in weather forecasts, especially conditions that might favor a passing or running game, could also shift prices. Unexpected announcements about coaching strategies or team lineups, or even significant shifts in public perception based on pre-game analysis, could all contribute to movement in this market before it resolves.
