This market focuses on determining which team will score more points in a specific quarter of a college football game between Indiana and Rutgers. It tracks performance during a defined segment of play, offering a granular view of in-game dynamics rather than overall game results.
The market resolves based on which team scores the most points during the second quarter of the Indiana vs. Rutgers college football game scheduled for October 3, 2026. If Rutgers scores more points in that quarter, the 'Rutgers' market resolves to Yes. If Indiana scores more points, the 'Indiana' market resolves to Yes. If both teams score an equal number of points, the 'Tie' market resolves to Yes. For all markets, only points scored during the second quarter count. If the game is postponed but starts within 48 hours of the original time, the market remains open and resolves based on the official result. If the game does not start within 48 hours, all markets resolve to a fair price. Kalshi is not affiliated with the NCAA, and all trademarks belong to their respective owners.
Generally, prediction market odds tend to reflect the wisdom of the crowd, often proving more accurate than initial sportsbook lines. Sportsbooks set odds based on their own models and aim to balance action on both sides, incorporating a profit margin. This market, however, is driven by individuals trading based on their own information and analysis. While there can be discrepancies, prediction markets often converge towards a more accurate probability assessment as more information becomes available and trading volume increases. It’s common to see prediction market prices move independently of sportsbook odds, especially as new developments occur.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous double auction. Traders buy and sell contracts representing each possible outcome – Indiana winning the 2nd quarter or Rutgers winning the 2nd quarter. The price of each contract reflects the market’s assessment of the probability of that outcome occurring. As more traders participate and new information emerges, the prices adjust accordingly. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price movement is driven entirely by supply and demand from traders on Kalshi, creating a dynamic and real-time reflection of expectations for the game.
This market resolves around Oct 4, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Specifically, the official result of which team won the 2nd quarter of the Indiana vs Rutgers game will determine the winning contract. The resolution will be based on the official game statistics as reported by a recognized sports data provider. Traders holding the winning contract will receive a payout equivalent to one minus the price they paid for it, while those holding losing contracts will forfeit their investment.
Several factors could influence trading activity in this market. Any news regarding injuries to key players on either the Indiana or Rutgers teams would likely cause price fluctuations. Changes in team performance during the first quarter of the game, or even pre-game reports on team strategies, could also shift market sentiment. Unexpected weather conditions, if they impact the game, might also play a role. Finally, significant betting activity or large volume trades on Kalshi itself can create momentum and move the prices, reflecting shifts in trader confidence.
