This market focuses on determining which team will score more points in a specific quarter of an upcoming college football game. It tracks real-time performance during the third quarter, reflecting short-term competitive dynamics rather than the overall game outcome. The resolution depends solely on points scored during that quarter, with provisions for game delays.
The market resolves based on which team scores the most points during the third quarter of the Indiana vs Nebraska college football game scheduled for October 10, 2026. If Nebraska scores more points in that quarter, the market resolves to Yes for the Nebraska outcome. If Indiana scores more points, the market resolves to Yes for the Indiana outcome. If both teams score an equal number of points, the market resolves to Yes for the Tie outcome. For all outcomes, only points scored during the third quarter count. If the game is postponed but starts within 48 hours of the original time, the market remains open and resolves based on the official result. If the game does not start within 48 hours, the market resolves to a fair price. Kalshi is not affiliated with the NCAA, and all trademarks remain property of their respective owners.
Prediction market odds often reflect the wisdom of the crowd, potentially differing from traditional sportsbook lines. Sportsbooks set initial odds based on statistical models and expert analysis, while this market aggregates the beliefs of many individual traders. If a significant number of traders believe a sportsbook is undervaluing a particular outcome, they can buy 'yes' contracts, driving up the price and bringing it closer to their collective assessment. This dynamic can lead to prediction markets being more accurate than sportsbook odds, particularly as the event approaches.
On Kalshi, this market is priced using a continuous double auction. Traders buy and sell contracts representing each possible outcome – in this case, Indiana winning the 3rd quarter or Nebraska winning the 3rd quarter. The price of each contract represents the probability of that outcome occurring, as perceived by the market participants. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate and new information becomes available, the prices adjust to reflect the evolving consensus. The goal is to create a market where the prices accurately forecast the real-world result.
This market resolves around Oct 10, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The winner of the 3rd quarter of the Indiana vs Nebraska game will determine the winning contract. The official score at the end of the 3rd quarter, as reported by official game sources, will be used to verify the result. Traders holding contracts for the winning team will receive a payout of 100 cents per contract, while those holding contracts for the losing team will receive nothing.
Several factors could influence trading activity and shift the odds in this market. Injury reports for key players on either the Indiana or Nebraska teams would be a significant catalyst. Unexpected lineup changes or news regarding player performance could also impact the market. Game-day weather conditions, particularly if they favor one team’s playing style, might also move the market. Finally, any significant public sentiment shifts, perhaps driven by pre-game analysis or expert predictions, could influence trader behavior and alter the prices.
