This set of markets tracks how many points are scored in the first quarter of a college football game between Indiana and Nebraska. Each market has a different threshold for the total points that must be exceeded for the outcome to be considered a success.
These markets resolve based on the total points scored by both teams combined during the first quarter of the Indiana vs Nebraska college football game scheduled for October 10, 2026. Each market has a specific threshold (ranging from 2.5 to 27.5 points); if the combined score exceeds that threshold, the market resolves to 'Yes.' Only points scored in the first quarter count. If the game is postponed but starts within 48 hours of the original time, the market remains open and resolves based on the actual result. If the game does not start within 48 hours, the market resolves to a fair price. Kalshi is not affiliated with the NCAA, and all trademarks remain the property of their respective owners.
Prediction market odds often reflect the wisdom of the crowd, potentially differing from those set by sportsbooks. Sportsbooks establish initial lines based on their own analysis, aiming to balance action on both sides. This market, however, allows individuals to trade based on their own insights, leading to odds that can diverge from traditional sportsbooks as new information emerges or public sentiment shifts. It's common to see prediction markets react more quickly to breaking news or changes in team conditions than sportsbooks do.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders buy and sell contracts representing possible outcomes for the Indiana vs Nebraska 1st quarter. The price of a contract indicates the probability of that outcome occurring, as perceived by the market participants. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Traders are constantly adjusting their bids and asks based on their beliefs, and the market price reflects the collective assessment of all traders. This creates a dynamic pricing mechanism, different from fixed-odds betting.
This market resolves around Oct 10, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the final score of the first quarter of the Indiana vs Nebraska game is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the total points scored by both teams during the first 12 minutes of play. Any overtime or subsequent quarters are not considered for the purposes of determining the outcome of this market. The official game statistics will serve as the basis for verification.
Several factors could influence the price of this market. Any news regarding key player injuries for either Indiana or Nebraska would likely cause significant movement. Changes in weather forecasts, particularly if they suggest conditions favoring one team's playing style, could also impact trading activity. Furthermore, late-breaking news about team morale, coaching decisions, or even unexpected starting lineup changes could all contribute to shifts in the market price as traders react to the new information and adjust their predictions.
