Description

If the match is permanently canceled or abandoned or otherwise is completed without a winner, the market resolves 50-50.

Frequently asked questions

Typically, prediction market odds offer a different perspective than those found at sportsbooks. Sportsbooks often incorporate a 'vig' or commission into their odds, representing their profit margin. This market, driven by the collective wisdom of traders, aims to represent the true probability of an outcome, free from such built-in margins. However, discrepancies can occur due to differing information, biases, or simply variations in opinion between market participants and sportsbook oddsmakers. It's valuable to compare both to form a well-rounded assessment.

On Limitless, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell contracts representing their belief in the probability of a particular outcome. The price of each contract reflects the market’s collective assessment. On Limitless, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The more traders believe an outcome is likely, the higher the contract price will climb, and vice-versa. This dynamic pricing system allows the market to quickly incorporate new information and adjust probabilities in real-time, creating a constantly evolving forecast.

This market resolves around Oct 10, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official result of the India vs West Indies cricket match, as declared by the governing body of the sport. The market will then determine the winning contract based on the final score and any applicable rules regarding ties or other unusual circumstances. Traders holding the winning contract will be paid out according to the final market price.

Several factors could influence this market before resolution. Any news regarding player injuries, changes in team lineups, or weather forecasts impacting playing conditions could significantly shift trader sentiment. Unexpected performance in preceding matches, or even pre-match interviews with key players, could also introduce new information and cause price fluctuations. Broad public opinion, as reflected in polls or analyst predictions, might also exert some influence, though the market is ultimately driven by trading activity on Limitless.
