Description

This market refers to the combination of the pre-match coin toss and the final match result for the cricket match between New Zealand and India scheduled for October 24 2026 at 3:00 AM ET in India Tour of New Zealand T20s. The outcome corresponding to New Zealand will be considered correct if New Zealand is officially recorded as winning both the toss and the match. The outcome corresponding to India will be considered correct if India is officially recorded as winning both the toss and the match. In all other cases - including where the toss and match winners differ, or where no match winner is recorded - the market will resolve to "Draw". DLS/DRS adjustments, over-rate penalties, forfeit/walkover, Super Over, or any other on-field ruling that leads the competition to declare a match winner are treated as ordinary wins. If the match ends tied and the playing conditions provide an on-field tiebreak (e.g., Super Over), the tiebreak winner will be considered the match winner for this market. If the match ends tied with no tiebreak used or available, no team will be considered to have won the match and the market will resolve to "Draw". If the match is permanently canceled, abandoned, or otherwise completed without an official match winner being declared, the market will resolve to "Draw". If the match is postponed or rescheduled, the market remains open until the listed fixture is completed and will then resolve as described above.

Frequently asked questions

Often, prediction market odds offer a different perspective than those found at traditional sportsbooks. This is because prediction markets aggregate the wisdom of the crowd, allowing traders to weigh various factors and express their beliefs about the likelihood of each outcome. Sportsbooks, on the other hand, set odds based on their own models and risk assessments. While both aim to predict the correct result, discrepancies can arise due to differing methodologies and information sources. It’s common to see this market reflect insights not yet fully incorporated into sportsbook lines, especially as new information emerges.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism. Traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the probability of each outcome. As more shares are traded, the price adjusts to reflect the collective sentiment. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of a share directly corresponds to the implied probability of that outcome occurring. Higher demand for a particular outcome drives up its price, indicating a greater perceived chance of it happening. This dynamic pricing ensures that the market reflects the most up-to-date information and expectations of traders.

This market resolves around Oct 31, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official result of the toss in the New Zealand vs India T20 series. The outcome will be determined by which team wins the toss, as announced by the official match referee. The platform will verify the result against trusted sources to ensure accuracy and transparency, and settle the market accordingly. Traders will then be able to claim their winnings or adjust their positions based on the final outcome.

Several factors could influence trading activity in this market. Any news regarding team lineups, player form, or weather conditions in New Zealand could shift expectations and impact the odds. Pre-match analysis from cricket experts and commentators could also sway trader sentiment. Unexpected announcements about pitch conditions or changes to playing strategies might also lead to significant price movements. Ultimately, any information that alters perceptions of each team’s chances of winning the toss will likely be reflected in the price of shares in this market.
