In the upcoming India Tour of New Zealand ODIs cricket match between New Zealand and India, originally scheduled for Friday, November 6, 2026 at 9:00 PM ET (as of creation of the first market related to the event): This market refers to which team's player records the highest individual run total. The outcome corresponding to New Zealand will be considered correct if the highest individual score in the match is recorded exclusively by a player from New Zealand. The outcome corresponding to India will be considered correct if the highest individual score is recorded exclusively by a player from India. If the highest individual score is shared by at least one player from each team, the market will resolve to Draw. The market will resolve according to which team's player records the highest individual run total regardless of if the match is not competed (e.g. Due to weather conditions). DLS/DRS adjustments and any other on-field rulings affecting batting statistics are treated as ordinary data. If this market's outcome was definitively determined under its rules by the listed resolution sources before abandonment, that outcome will stand. Otherwise, the following no-result provisions apply. If the match is canceled, does not start by Sunday, November 8, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, or is abandoned with no official result by that time, the market will resolve Draw. If the match is abandoned or otherwise completed without official batting statistics being recorded, the market will resolve Draw.

Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd, often incorporating information and analysis that may not be immediately factored into traditional sportsbook lines. While sportsbooks set initial odds based on statistical models and expert opinions, this market allows anyone to trade on their beliefs, potentially leading to odds that diverge from those offered by sportsbooks. Discrepancies can arise due to differing levels of information, biases, or simply a different interpretation of the same data. It’s common to see prediction markets react faster to new information than sportsbooks.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism. Traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in each outcome – in this case, which player will be the top batter. The price of each share directly reflects the probability of that outcome occurring, as determined by supply and demand. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders buy shares in a particular player, the price increases, indicating a growing expectation that they will perform well. Conversely, selling pressure lowers the price, suggesting decreasing confidence. This dynamic pricing ensures the market reflects the collective intelligence of all participants.
This market resolves around Nov 14, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Resolution will be based on which player is officially recognized as the top batter across the entire New Zealand vs India ODI series. Official match results and statistics from governing bodies will serve as the basis for determining the winning outcome. The market will then settle, and winning shares will be redeemable for the corresponding payout based on the final odds at resolution.
Several factors could significantly influence this market. Player form leading up to and during the series is a key driver; strong performances in recent matches will likely increase a player’s share price. Injury news is also critical – any updates regarding the fitness of key players will cause immediate shifts in the odds. Weather conditions and pitch reports could also play a role, as they impact batting conditions. Finally, any significant news or analysis from cricket experts could sway market sentiment and lead to changes in trading volume and price.
