These markets track how decisively either Illinois or Michigan State wins the final quarter of their college football matchup. They focus exclusively on points scored in the fourth quarter, ignoring earlier periods or overtime scenarios.
All markets resolve based solely on points scored during the fourth quarter of the Illinois vs Michigan State college football game scheduled for October 10, 2026, excluding overtime. For markets specifying Illinois winning by more than a set margin (1.5, 2.5, 3.5, 6.5, 7.5, or 10.5 points), the market resolves to Yes if Illinois meets or exceeds that margin in the fourth quarter. Conversely, for markets specifying Michigan State winning by more than a set margin (2.5, 3.5, 6.5, 7.5, or 10.5 points), the market resolves to Yes if Michigan State achieves that margin in the fourth quarter. If the game is postponed but starts within 48 hours of the original time, markets remain open and resolve based on the official result. If the game does not start within 48 hours, markets resolve to a fair price. All markets are independent and evaluated exclusively on fourth-quarter performance.
Prediction market odds often reflect the collective wisdom of a diverse group of traders, which can sometimes differ from those set by sportsbooks. Sportsbooks establish lines based on their own modeling and to balance betting action, while this market represents what individuals are willing to pay to take a position on the outcome. Generally, you’ll find that prediction markets are highly efficient and can provide a different perspective on the probability of various outcomes than traditional sportsbooks. It's a useful comparison point for anyone following the game.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book, meaning traders are constantly buying and selling contracts at different price points. The price of a contract represents the probability of that specific spread occurring in the 4th quarter. As more people buy contracts predicting a certain outcome, the price of those contracts increases, and vice versa. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. This dynamic pricing mechanism allows the market to quickly incorporate new information and adjust expectations as game day approaches, providing a real-time assessment of the likely spread.
This market resolves around Oct 10, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the final point spread of the 4th quarter of the Illinois vs Michigan State game is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official result reported by the game's governing body, and the contracts will pay out based on whether the actual spread falls within the ranges offered on Kalshi. Traders will be able to see the final outcome and any associated payouts shortly after the game concludes.
Several factors could influence the price of this market. Any news regarding player injuries to key players on either the Illinois or Michigan State teams would likely cause significant movement. Changes in team strategy or unexpected performance in earlier games could also shift trader sentiment. Even broader factors, like weather forecasts for game day, could play a role. As the game approaches, any updates or analysis from sports analysts could also impact trading activity and the price of contracts in this market.
