This market assesses how many points will be scored in a specific quarter of a college football game between Illinois and Michigan State. The focus is solely on the third quarter's scoring performance, providing insight into potential game momentum and offensive efficiency during that period.
All markets resolve based on the total points scored by both teams combined during the third quarter of the Illinois vs Michigan State college football game scheduled for October 10, 2026. Each market has a different threshold: if the combined score exceeds the specified threshold (2.5, 5.5, 7.5, 10.5, 12.5, 13.5, 16.5, 19.5, 20.5, 23.5, or 27.5 points), the respective market resolves to Yes; otherwise, it resolves to No. Only points scored during the third quarter count. If the game is postponed but starts within 48 hours of the original time, the market remains open and resolves based on the official result. If the game does not start within 48 hours, the market resolves to a fair price. Kalshi is not affiliated with the NCAA, and all trademarks remain property of their respective owners.
Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd, often differing from initial sportsbook lines. Sportsbooks set odds based on their own models and to balance action, while this market allows anyone to trade on their belief about the game's outcome. If a significant number of traders believe a sportsbook line is inaccurate, they can buy or sell contracts, driving the price to reflect their collective view. This can sometimes lead to prediction market prices being more accurate than traditional odds, especially as the event approaches and more information becomes available.
This market resolves around Oct 10, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The final point total scored in the 3rd quarter of the Illinois vs Michigan State game will be used to determine whether the 'over' or 'under' contracts will pay out. The official game statistics, as reported by a recognized sports data provider, will serve as the definitive source for the resolution. Traders will be able to see the final result reflected in their account balances shortly after the game concludes.
Several factors could influence the price of this market. Any news regarding key player injuries for either Illinois or Michigan State would likely cause significant movement. Changes in weather conditions, particularly if they are expected to impact scoring, could also affect trading activity. Furthermore, as the game day approaches, any updates on team strategies or coaching decisions could sway traders' opinions. Even the release of updated statistical analyses or expert predictions could contribute to price fluctuations in this market.
