Frequently asked questions

Generally, prediction market odds often reflect a wisdom-of-the-crowd effect, potentially differing from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and to balance action, while this market represents the collective belief of traders. Discrepancies can arise due to differing information, biases, or simply the dynamic nature of each market. It’s valuable to compare the two to identify potential value or mispricings, but remember that each operates under distinct mechanisms and incentives.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the likelihood of a specific outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the implied probability of that outcome occurring. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate, the price adjusts to reflect the aggregated sentiment, creating a dynamic and real-time assessment of the potential result. The current price reflects what traders are willing to pay for a share, indicating their collective expectation.

This market resolves around Oct 10, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official result of the second half of the Igdir FK vs. Batman Petrolspor match, as determined by the governing football league. It’s important to note that the outcome is determined by the actual event result, not by any subjective assessment or intermediary source. Traders should monitor official sources for confirmation of the final score.

Several factors could influence trading activity in this market. Any news regarding team injuries, changes in coaching staff, or even weather conditions could shift trader sentiment. Unexpected performance in the first half of the match, or even pre-match analysis highlighting a tactical advantage for one team, could also lead to significant price movements. Furthermore, large trades by influential market participants could create short-term volatility and impact the overall price of shares in this market.
