These markets evaluate how many points will be scored in the final quarter of a college football game between Houston and Utah. Each market has a different threshold for the total points scored by both teams combined during that specific period.
All markets resolve based on the total points scored by both teams in the 4th quarter (excluding overtime) of the Houston vs Utah college football game scheduled for October 24, 2026. For each market, if the combined score exceeds the specified threshold, it resolves to Yes; otherwise, it resolves to No. If the game is postponed but starts within 48 hours of the original time, the markets remain open and resolve based on the final result. If the game does not start within 48 hours, all markets resolve to a fair price. Only points scored during the 4th quarter count, and Kalshi is not affiliated with the NCAA.
Prediction market odds often reflect the collective wisdom of a diverse group of traders, and can sometimes differ from those offered by sportsbooks. Sportsbooks set lines to balance their risk, incorporating a profit margin, while this market is driven purely by participants’ beliefs about the outcome. It's common to see discrepancies, especially as new information emerges or public sentiment shifts. Comparing the odds can be a useful exercise for informed decision-making, but remember that each represents a different type of forecast and incentive structure.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders buy and sell contracts. The price of a contract represents the probability of the event occurring – in this case, the 4th quarter total points being over or under the specified threshold. As more people buy contracts predicting a certain outcome, the price increases, and vice versa. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. This dynamic pricing mechanism allows the market to quickly incorporate new information and reflect the evolving expectations of participants.
This market resolves around Oct 25, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the final score of the Houston vs Utah game is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official total points scored in the 4th quarter of the game, as recorded by official game statistics. The platform will then determine which side of the market – over or under – corresponds to the actual result and settle the contracts accordingly.
Several factors could influence the price of this market. Any news regarding key player injuries for either the Houston or Utah teams would likely have a significant impact. Changes in team strategy or recent game performance could also shift expectations. Even public sentiment, as reflected in social media or expert analysis, can contribute to price movements. Unexpected weather conditions on game day, or late-breaking news about referee assignments, could also cause the market to react and adjust its predictions.
