These markets track the total points scored by both teams in the second half of a college football game, including any overtime periods. Each market has a different threshold for the total points needed to resolve as 'Yes'.
All markets resolve based on the total points scored by both teams combined in the second half (including overtime) of the Houston vs Utah college football game scheduled for October 24, 2026. Each market has a specific threshold: if the combined second-half points exceed the threshold, the market resolves to Yes; otherwise, it resolves to No. For all markets, only points scored in the second half and overtime count. If the game is postponed but starts within 48 hours of the original time, the markets remain open and resolve based on the final result. If the game does not start within 48 hours, all markets resolve to a fair price. Kalshi is not affiliated with the NCAA, and all trademarks belong to their respective owners.
Prediction market odds often reflect the wisdom of the crowd, potentially differing from sportsbook odds which may be influenced by factors like house bias or initial public perception. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and risk management, while this market allows anyone to trade on their belief about the outcome. It’s common to see discrepancies, especially before significant events or breaking news. Comparing the two can offer a broader perspective on the likely result, and potentially identify value in either the prediction market or traditional sports betting.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism, where traders buy and sell contracts representing their belief about whether the second half total will be over or under a certain number. The price of a contract reflects the probability of that outcome occurring, as determined by supply and demand. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate, the price converges towards what the market believes is the true probability. This dynamic pricing allows for real-time adjustments based on new information and changing sentiment, making it a responsive indicator of expectations for the Houston vs Utah game.
This market resolves around Oct 25, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The final score of the second half of the Houston vs Utah game will be used to determine whether the total exceeds or falls below the market’s implied threshold. The official game statistics, as reported by a reputable sports data source, will serve as the basis for resolution. Traders holding contracts on the correct side will receive a payout of 100 minus the commission, while those on the incorrect side will lose their investment.
Several signals could influence this market before resolution. Any news regarding key player injuries for either the Houston or Utah teams would likely cause significant movement, as would updates on team strategy or changes in coaching decisions. Unexpected weather conditions, if the game is played outdoors, could also impact scoring expectations. Furthermore, in-game performance during the first half could shift sentiment, as traders react to the initial flow of the game and adjust their predictions accordingly. Major shifts in public opinion, even without concrete news, can also contribute to price fluctuations.
