This set of markets tracks how many points each team scores in an upcoming college football game. Each market corresponds to a specific point threshold, and the outcome depends on whether the team's actual score exceeds that threshold.
All markets resolve based on the official final point totals for Houston and Kansas State in their college football game scheduled for October 10, 2026. For each market, if the specified team scores more than the stated point threshold, the market resolves to Yes; otherwise, it resolves to No. If the game is postponed but commences within 48 hours of the original start time, the markets remain open and resolve according to the final result. If the game does not start within 48 hours of its scheduled time, all markets resolve to a fair price, ensuring impartial treatment for all participants regardless of the point thresholds specified.
Prediction market odds often reflect the collective wisdom of a diverse group of traders, while sportsbook odds are typically set by professional oddsmakers. This can lead to differences, as prediction markets may incorporate information and perspectives not fully captured by sportsbooks. Sometimes, this market will align closely with sportsbook lines, especially for widely followed events. However, discrepancies can emerge as new information becomes available or as traders interpret event probabilities differently than bookmakers. It’s useful to compare both to form a well-rounded view.
On Kalshi, this market is priced using a continuous double auction. Traders buy and sell contracts representing different team total outcomes, and the price of each contract fluctuates based on supply and demand. As more people buy contracts for a particular outcome, the price increases, indicating a higher perceived probability. Conversely, selling pressure drives prices down. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The current price reflects the market’s aggregate assessment of the likelihood of each team achieving a specific total score, and is constantly updated as traders react to new information and adjust their positions.
This market resolves around Oct 11, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The final team totals for both Houston and Kansas St. will be sourced from official game statistics. The market will settle based on whether the actual team totals are above or below the thresholds defined by the contracts available for trading. This ensures a transparent and objective determination of the outcome, based on the official results of the game. Traders will then be paid out based on their positions.
Several factors could influence this market before resolution. Any news regarding key player injuries or suspensions for either Houston or Kansas St. would likely cause significant price movement. Changes in weather forecasts, particularly if they are expected to impact the game’s scoring environment, could also shift the market. Additionally, late-breaking news about team strategies or coaching decisions might influence trader sentiment. Finally, large volume trades from informed participants could also trigger price fluctuations as the market adjusts to new information.
