All markets will settle based on the official final result as recognized by the governing body or event organizers. Revisions to officially declared final scores made after market resolution will not be accounted for in determining the outcome. If no acceptable data is available within 24 hours of the event's conclusion, this market will resolve 50-50, or to "Draw" where applicable.

Typically, prediction market odds reflect a wisdom-of-the-crowd perspective, often differing from initial sportsbook lines. Sportsbooks set odds to balance their risk and ensure profit, while this market aggregates the beliefs of many individual traders. If a significant amount of volume flows towards a particular outcome, the odds on Polymarket will adjust accordingly, potentially moving further away from the initial sportsbook offering. Discrepancies can arise due to differing information, biases, or simply the collective insight of market participants. It’s common to see prediction markets outperform traditional forecasts over time.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in each exact score outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the probability of that outcome occurring, as perceived by the market. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate and express their views, the prices dynamically adjust, reflecting the collective forecast. Higher volume in a specific outcome generally indicates stronger conviction and drives the price of shares in that outcome upwards. This creates a constantly updated probability distribution for the final score.
This market resolves around Oct 18, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The final score of the Houston Dynamo versus FC Dallas match will be used to determine the winning outcome. The resolution will be based on the official result as reported by a trusted sports data source. Traders who correctly predicted the exact score will receive a payout proportional to their holdings in the winning outcome's shares. It’s important to monitor for official announcements regarding the match result to understand when this market will be settled.
Several factors could influence trading activity and shift the odds in this market. Key events include any news regarding player injuries or suspensions for either the Houston Dynamo or FC Dallas. Changes in team form, tactical adjustments, or even weather conditions could also impact trader sentiment. Unexpected announcements about starting lineups or pre-match analysis from reputable sources may also cause fluctuations. A significant influx of volume, driven by new information or a shift in public opinion, could rapidly alter the probabilities associated with each potential exact score.
