Frequently asked questions

Prediction market odds often reflect a different kind of wisdom than those found at sportsbooks. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and incorporate a profit margin, while this market relies on the collective intelligence of traders who are incentivized to accurately forecast the outcome. Discrepancies can arise due to differing information sources, biases, or simply varying interpretations of the available data. It's common to see prediction markets move independently of sportsbook lines, especially as new information emerges or public sentiment shifts. Analyzing these differences can reveal valuable insights into the perceived probabilities of each outcome.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the probability of that outcome occurring, as perceived by the market participants. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The more traders who believe an outcome will happen, the higher the price of its shares will climb. Conversely, if sentiment shifts towards another outcome, its share price will increase while the original outcome's price decreases. This dynamic pricing ensures that the market reflects the most up-to-date collective prediction.

This market resolves around Oct 19, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official result of the Horokh vs. Kushnirenko match as reported by recognized sports authorities. The platform will verify the outcome against these sources to determine which outcome corresponds to the actual result. Traders holding shares in the winning outcome will be paid out according to the final share price at resolution, while those holding shares in the losing outcome will forfeit their investment.

Several factors could influence the price movement of this market before Oct 19, 2026. Any news regarding player injuries, changes in coaching strategies, or even weather conditions could impact trader sentiment. Unexpected announcements about the players’ form or fitness levels could also lead to significant shifts in the market. Public opinion, as reflected in social media or expert analysis, can also play a role, though the market is ultimately driven by traders’ willingness to buy or sell shares based on their own assessments. Monitoring these signals can provide insights into potential market movements.
