Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd, often incorporating information and perspectives not immediately captured by traditional sportsbooks. While sportsbooks set initial lines based on statistical models and expert analysis, this market allows anyone to trade on their beliefs, potentially leading to odds that more accurately predict the outcome. Discrepancies can arise due to differing levels of information, biases, or simply variations in opinion. It’s common to see prediction markets react more quickly to new information than sportsbooks, especially in dynamic situations.
