This market refers to the combination of the pre-match coin toss and the final match result for the cricket match between Scotland and Sri Lanka scheduled for October 30 2026 at 9:40 PM ET in Hong Kong Sixes. The outcome corresponding to Scotland will be considered correct if Scotland is officially recorded as winning both the toss and the match. The outcome corresponding to Sri Lanka will be considered correct if Sri Lanka is officially recorded as winning both the toss and the match. In all other cases - including where the toss and match winners differ, or where no match winner is recorded - the market will resolve to "Draw". DLS/DRS adjustments, over-rate penalties, forfeit/walkover, Super Over, or any other on-field ruling that leads the competition to declare a match winner are treated as ordinary wins. If the match ends tied and the playing conditions provide an on-field tiebreak (e.g., Super Over), the tiebreak winner will be considered the match winner for this market. If the match ends tied with no tiebreak used or available, no team will be considered to have won the match and the market will resolve to "Draw". If the match is permanently canceled, abandoned, or otherwise completed without an official match winner being declared, the market will resolve to "Draw". If the match is postponed or rescheduled, the market remains open until the listed fixture is completed and will then resolve as described above.

Typically, prediction market odds reflect the collective wisdom of a diverse group of traders, potentially offering a different perspective than traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks set their lines based on statistical models and expert analysis, while this market incorporates a wider range of information and opinions. It’s common to see discrepancies between the two, especially early in the market’s life cycle, as prediction markets can react more quickly to new information or shifts in public sentiment. However, as the event approaches, the odds on Polymarket often converge with sportsbook odds.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism. Traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the likelihood of each outcome. As more shares are bought for a particular outcome, its price increases, reflecting a higher implied probability. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of a share directly corresponds to the probability of that outcome occurring, as perceived by the market participants. This dynamic pricing ensures that the market odds are always up-to-date and reflect the latest information available to traders.
This market resolves around Nov 7, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official result of the toss in the Hong Kong Sixes match between Scotland and Sri Lanka. The platform will verify the result against publicly available sources to determine which outcome – Scotland or Sri Lanka winning the toss – is the correct one. Traders holding shares in the winning outcome will receive a payout, while those holding shares in the losing outcome will forfeit their investment.
Several factors could influence the price of shares in this market. Any news regarding team form, player availability, or weather conditions could impact trader sentiment. Unexpected announcements about the match schedule or venue could also cause shifts in the odds. Furthermore, large trading volume from informed traders could signal a change in expectations. Finally, general shifts in public opinion, even those unrelated to the specific teams, can sometimes influence the market, especially if they affect overall betting patterns.
