In the upcoming Hong Kong Sixes cricket match between Hong Kong, China and Sri Lanka, originally scheduled for Saturday, October 31, 2026 at 10:35 PM ET (as of creation of the first market related to the event): This market refers to the combination of the pre-match coin toss and the final match result. The outcome corresponding to Hong Kong, China will be considered correct if Hong Kong, China is officially recorded as winning both the toss and the match. The outcome corresponding to Sri Lanka will be considered correct if Sri Lanka is officially recorded as winning both the toss and the match. In all other cases - including where the toss and match winners differ, or where no match winner is recorded - the market will resolve to "Draw". DLS/DRS adjustments, over-rate penalties, forfeit/walkover, Super Over, or any other on-field ruling that leads the competition to declare a match winner are treated as ordinary wins. If the match ends tied and the playing conditions provide an on-field tiebreak (e.g., Super Over), the tiebreak winner will be considered the match winner for this market. If the match ends tied with no tiebreak used or available, no team will be considered to have won the match and the market will resolve to "Draw". If this market's outcome was definitively determined under its rules by the listed resolution sources before abandonment, that outcome will stand. Otherwise, the following no-result provisions apply. If the match is canceled, does not start by Monday, November 2, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, or is abandoned with no official result by that time, the market will resolve to "Draw". If the match is abandoned or otherwise completed without an official match winner being declared, the market will resolve to "Draw".

Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can sometimes differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and aim to balance action on both sides, while this market aggregates the beliefs of many individual traders. If a significant discrepancy exists, arbitrage opportunities may arise, where traders can profit by simultaneously betting on both the prediction market and a sportsbook. However, it’s important to remember that both represent probabilities of an outcome, and neither is guaranteed to be correct.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism. Traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the probability of each outcome. As more shares are purchased for a particular outcome, its price increases, reflecting a higher implied probability. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of a share represents the percentage chance of that outcome occurring, according to the collective judgment of the traders on the platform. This dynamic pricing ensures that the market reflects the most up-to-date information and sentiment.
This market resolves around Nov 8, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official result of the toss in the Hong Kong Sixes match between Hong Kong, China, and Sri Lanka. The team declared the winner of the toss by the official match referee will determine the winning outcome in this market. The final price of shares will reflect the actual outcome of the toss.
Several factors could influence the price of shares in this market. Any news regarding team form, player availability, or even weather conditions that might affect the toss could shift trader sentiment. Unexpected announcements related to the tournament itself, such as changes to the schedule or playing conditions, could also have an impact. Finally, large trades by influential market participants could create short-term price movements, as others react to their actions. Monitoring these signals can help you understand potential shifts in the market’s implied probabilities.
