Description

In the upcoming Hong Kong Sixes cricket match between Bangladesh and India, originally scheduled for Saturday, October 31, 2026 at 9:40 PM ET (as of creation of the first market related to the event): This market refers to which team's player records the highest individual run total. The outcome corresponding to Bangladesh will be considered correct if the highest individual score in the match is recorded exclusively by a player from Bangladesh. The outcome corresponding to India will be considered correct if the highest individual score is recorded exclusively by a player from India. If the highest individual score is shared by at least one player from each team, the market will resolve to Draw. The market will resolve according to which team's player records the highest individual run total regardless of if the match is not competed (e.g. Due to weather conditions). DLS/DRS adjustments and any other on-field rulings affecting batting statistics are treated as ordinary data. If this market's outcome was definitively determined under its rules by the listed resolution sources before abandonment, that outcome will stand. Otherwise, the following no-result provisions apply. If the match is canceled, does not start by Monday, November 2, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, or is abandoned with no official result by that time, the market will resolve Draw. If the match is abandoned or otherwise completed without official batting statistics being recorded, the market will resolve Draw.

Frequently asked questions

Prediction market odds often reflect the collective wisdom of a diverse group of traders, potentially offering a different perspective than traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks set their odds based on statistical models and expert analysis, while this market is driven by real-money incentives and the aggregated predictions of individuals. It’s common to see differences in probabilities, especially when there’s significant public interest or disagreement about the likely outcome. These discrepancies can create arbitrage opportunities for informed traders, as they attempt to capitalize on mispricings between the two types of markets.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism, where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in each player being the top batter. The price of each share directly corresponds to the probability of that outcome. As more traders buy shares in a particular player, the price increases, reflecting a higher perceived chance of success. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market’s price movements are influenced by new information, team news, and overall market sentiment, creating a dynamic and responsive pricing system.

This market resolves around Nov 8, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The player officially recognized as scoring the most runs in the Bangladesh vs India match of the Hong Kong Sixes will be considered the winner. In the event of a tie, the resolution will be determined by the platform’s rules, which prioritize the player who reached the score first. The outcome will be based on official match statistics and verified against credible public sources.

Several signals could significantly move this market. Any news regarding player injuries or changes to the batting lineup would have a substantial impact, as would updates on pitch conditions or weather forecasts. Strong performances by a player in other recent matches could also increase their perceived probability of success. Unexpected announcements about team strategy or changes in coaching staff could also influence trading activity. Furthermore, significant shifts in public sentiment, driven by media coverage or social media trends, can also contribute to price fluctuations in this market.
