Often, prediction market odds offer a different perspective than traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks typically incorporate a “vig” or commission into their odds, ensuring a profit margin for the house, while this market allows traders to directly assess the probability of an outcome. If prediction market traders strongly disagree with sportsbook odds, you may see a noticeable difference in the implied probabilities. It’s important to remember that both represent beliefs about the likelihood of an event, but they are formed through different mechanisms and by different participants.
