In the upcoming Veikkausliiga game between HJK Helsinki and IF Gnistan, scheduled for October 17, 2026 at 9:00 AM ET: This market will resolve based on the final score of the HJK Helsinki vs. IF Gnistan match originally scheduled for October 17, 2026 at 9:00 AM ET, considering only the result at the end of 90 minutes of regulation plus stoppage time; extra time and penalty shoot-outs are excluded. If the actual score is not one of the explicitly listed outcomes, the market resolves to "Any Other Score." If the match is postponed, the market will remain open until it is completed; if it is canceled with no make-up game, the market resolves to "0-0." The primary resolution source for this market is the official statistics of the event as recognized by the governing body or event organizers. However, if the governing body or event organizers have not published final match statistics within 2 hours after the event's conclusion, data from Flashscore may be used; if Flashscore data is unavailable, data from Sofascore may be used; if neither is available, a consensus of credible reporting may be used instead. All markets will settle based on the official final result as recognized by the governing body or event organizers. Revisions to officially declared final scores made after market resolution will not be accounted for in determining the outcome. If no acceptable data is available within 24 hours of the event's conclusion, this market will resolve 50-50, or to "Draw" where applicable.

Prediction market odds often offer a different perspective than traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks set their lines based on their own models and aim to balance action on both sides of a bet, incorporating a profit margin. This market, however, reflects the collective wisdom of traders who are incentivized to accurately forecast the outcome. While sportsbooks may initially have different probabilities assigned, prediction markets can sometimes converge on more accurate predictions as event time approaches and more information is factored in by participants. Discrepancies can highlight areas where the crowd disagrees with professional oddsmakers.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing different exact scores. The price of each share reflects the market's probability of that outcome occurring. As more traders participate, the prices adjust to reflect the evolving consensus. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market’s price is determined solely by supply and demand; if many traders believe a particular score is likely, they will bid up the price of shares representing that outcome, and vice versa. This dynamic pricing ensures the market reflects the most up-to-date collective prediction.
This market resolves around Oct 17, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The final, official result of the HJK Helsinki vs. IF Gnistan match – specifically, the exact score – will be used to determine which shares pay out. The resolution will be based on the official match data, ensuring a transparent and objective outcome. Traders should monitor official sources for the final score to understand when the market is settled and payouts are distributed. The resolution process is designed to be impartial and based on verifiable facts.
Several factors could influence this market before the match concludes. Any news regarding key player injuries or suspensions for either HJK Helsinki or IF Gnistan would likely cause significant shifts in the odds. Changes in weather conditions, such as heavy rain or strong winds, could also impact the expected scoreline. Furthermore, unexpected tactical decisions announced by either team’s manager, or even late-breaking news about team morale, could all contribute to price movements. The closer we get to Oct 17, 2026, the more sensitive the market will be to these types of developments.
