All markets resolve based on the official final point differential of the Hawai'i vs Northern Illinois college football game scheduled for October 24, 2026. If Hawai'i wins by exceeding the specified point margin, the corresponding 'Hawai'i wins by over X points' market resolves to Yes; if Northern Illinois wins by exceeding its specified margin, the relevant 'Northern Illinois wins by over X points' market resolves to Yes. If neither team meets their respective threshold, all markets resolve to No. For games postponed but starting within 48 hours of the original time, markets remain open and resolve based on the actual result. If the game does not start within 48 hours, all markets resolve to a fair price, ensuring equitable treatment for all participants regardless of game timing uncertainties.
Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and to balance action, while this market is driven by individuals trading on their own information and beliefs. Often, you’ll find prediction markets are more accurate than traditional point spreads, especially as the event approaches and more information becomes available. However, sportsbook odds are readily available and provide a useful benchmark for comparison.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders buy and sell contracts representing different point spreads for the Hawai'i vs Northern Illinois game. The price of each contract fluctuates based on supply and demand. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Traders are essentially betting on the probability of a particular spread occurring, and the market price reflects the collective assessment of all participants. The more a spread is bought, the higher its price becomes, indicating greater confidence in that outcome.
This market resolves around Oct 25, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the final point spread of the Hawai'i vs Northern Illinois game is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official result reported by sports data providers. The market will determine which contracts pay out $1 per contract, based on whether the actual spread falls within the range represented by the purchased contract. Traders will then receive their winnings or losses based on their positions.
Several factors could influence the price of this market. Any news regarding injuries to key players on either the Hawai'i or Northern Illinois teams would likely cause significant movement. Changes in weather forecasts, particularly if they suggest adverse conditions, could also impact the spread. Public sentiment, reflected in polls or expert analyses, can also play a role, as can large trading volume from informed participants. Finally, any significant shifts in betting patterns at traditional sportsbooks could influence trading activity on Kalshi.
