Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks often set initial lines to balance betting action and incorporate a profit margin, while this market allows traders to directly express their beliefs about the probability of each outcome. If a significant discrepancy exists between this market and sportsbook odds, it may indicate that the crowd believes the sportsbook has mispriced the event. However, it's important to remember that both represent different perspectives on the same underlying event.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders buy and sell contracts representing each possible outcome. The price of each contract reflects the market’s implied probability of that outcome occurring. As more traders buy contracts for a particular team, the price increases, and the implied probability rises. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market dynamically adjusts to new information and changing sentiment, providing a real-time assessment of the likelihood of each team winning the first half of the Hawai'i vs Northern Illinois game.
This market resolves around Oct 24, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The team leading at the end of the first half of the Hawai'i vs Northern Illinois game will be declared the winner. The official result will be used to determine the settlement of all contracts traded in this market. Traders should monitor official sources for the final score to understand when and how this market will be settled.
Several factors could influence the price movement of this market. Any news regarding injuries to key players on either the Hawai'i or Northern Illinois teams would likely have a significant impact. Changes in weather conditions, particularly if they favor one team’s playing style, could also shift the odds. Additionally, late-breaking news about team strategies or coaching decisions might cause traders to reassess their probabilities. Public sentiment, as reflected in social media and sports news, can also contribute to price fluctuations in this market.
