Often, prediction market odds offer a different perspective than those found at sportsbooks. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and incorporate a profit margin, while this market reflects the collective wisdom of traders who are incentivized to be accurate. Discrepancies can arise due to differing information, biases, or simply the dynamics of each venue. If there's a significant difference between the implied probability here and sportsbook odds, it might suggest the crowd believes there's value in one outcome over another, or that the sportsbook's assessment is off.
On Predict, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders can buy and sell shares representing different outcomes. The price of each share reflects the probability of that outcome occurring, as determined by supply and demand. As more people buy shares in a particular outcome, its price increases, and vice versa. On Predict, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. This dynamic pricing mechanism allows the market to quickly incorporate new information and adjust its predictions accordingly, offering a unique view compared to static odds.
This market resolves around Oct 10, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The final result of the Harvard vs. Cornell game, as reported by official sources, will determine the winning outcome in this market. Resolution will occur shortly after the conclusion of the game, allowing sufficient time to verify the results. Traders holding shares in the winning outcome will be paid out based on the final market price at resolution.
Several factors could influence trading activity and shift the odds in this market. Key player injuries, changes in coaching strategies, weather forecasts, and even significant news coverage could all impact trader sentiment. Unexpected upsets in other games involving either Harvard or Cornell could also lead to adjustments. As the game approaches, any updates regarding team lineups or performance will likely be closely watched and reflected in the price movements within this market.
