Often, prediction market odds reflect a different perspective than those found at traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks incorporate a 'vig' or commission into their odds, ensuring profit regardless of the outcome, while this market allows for more direct expression of participant beliefs. It’s common to see discrepancies, especially when public sentiment strongly favors a particular result. Polls and analysts’ predictions may also differ, as they often rely on subjective assessments rather than the collective wisdom of traders actively putting capital at risk. This can create opportunities for informed traders.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism, where traders buy and sell shares representing different exact scores. The price of each share reflects the market’s collective belief about the probability of that score occurring. As more traders participate, the prices adjust to reflect the latest information and sentiment. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market depth, or the number of shares available at different price points, also provides insight into the strength of conviction behind each outcome. This dynamic pricing ensures the market remains responsive to new developments.
This market resolves around Oct 24, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The final, official result of the Harrogate Town AFC vs. Sutton United FC match – the exact score – will be used to determine the winning shares. The resolution will be based on the official match data, ensuring a transparent and verifiable outcome for all participants. Traders should monitor official sources for the final score to understand when the market is settled.
