Prediction market odds often reflect a different kind of wisdom than those found at traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and incorporate a profit margin, while this market aggregates the collective intelligence of many individual traders. As a result, you may find that the implied probabilities from Polymarket differ from those offered by sportsbooks, especially when there's significant public information or a strong consensus forming among traders. Discrepancies can arise due to differing opinions on player form, potential upsets, or even external factors influencing the match.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous exchange mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the likelihood of a particular outcome. The price of these shares directly reflects the market's implied probability. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The more traders who believe an outcome will occur, the higher the price of shares representing that outcome will climb. Conversely, if sentiment shifts, the price will decrease. This dynamic pricing ensures that the market constantly adjusts to incorporate new information and changing expectations about the Tobon vs. Salazar match.
This market resolves around Nov 2, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Resolution will be based on the official result of the Tobon vs. Salazar match, as declared by the governing sporting body. The platform will verify the outcome against publicly available sources to determine which outcome corresponds to the actual result of the match. Traders holding shares in the winning outcome will be paid out according to the final market price at the time of resolution.
