Prediction market odds often reflect the collective wisdom of a diverse group of traders, potentially differing from those set by sportsbooks. Sportsbooks typically set initial odds based on statistical models and expert analysis, while this market allows anyone to express their belief about the outcome. Discrepancies can arise due to differing information, biases, or simply a larger sample size of opinions represented in the prediction market. It’s common to see this market converge towards the true probability as the event approaches, but initial differences can present opportunities for informed traders.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism, where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in each outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the implied probability of that outcome occurring. As more traders buy shares in a particular outcome, its price increases, and vice versa. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market’s price reflects the aggregated sentiment of all participants, creating a dynamic and real-time assessment of the potential result of the Guayaquil doubles match.
This market resolves around Nov 5, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting.
