Generally, prediction market odds often reflect a different perspective than those found at traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks incorporate a 'vig' or commission into their odds, representing their profit margin, while this market aims to represent the true probability of an outcome as determined by traders. Often, prediction markets aggregate the wisdom of the crowd more effectively, potentially leading to more accurate probabilities, though discrepancies can occur based on information availability and market participation. It is common to see differences in implied probabilities between this market and sportsbook offerings, particularly as new information emerges.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the implied probability of that outcome occurring. As more traders participate and express their views, the price fluctuates, reflecting the collective prediction. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. This dynamic pricing ensures that the market constantly adapts to new information and changing sentiment surrounding the Guangzhou boxing match. The current price reflects the aggregated assessment of all traders on the platform.
This market resolves around Oct 25, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting.
