Sportsbooks set their lines based on their own models and risk management, while this market is driven by individuals freely trading on their beliefs. It’s common to see discrepancies, especially when there’s significant public interest or disagreement about the likely outcome. Comparing the two can be a valuable exercise for informed decision-making, but remember that each represents a distinct form of forecasting.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism. Traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the probability of a particular outcome.
