Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks often set initial lines to balance betting action and incorporate a profit margin, while this market allows traders to express their own independent assessments of the players’ chances. If a significant discrepancy exists, arbitrage opportunities may arise, where traders can profit by betting on both the prediction market and a sportsbook. It's important to compare the probabilities implied by both to assess where the market finds the most value.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism. Traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the likelihood of a particular outcome. As more shares are purchased for a specific player, the price of those shares increases, reflecting a higher implied probability of that player winning. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price movements are driven by supply and demand, influenced by new information, expert analysis, and overall market sentiment regarding the Guangzhou tennis match. This dynamic pricing ensures the market reflects the collective intelligence of its participants.
This market resolves around Oct 26, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting.
