Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks often set initial lines based on expert analysis and incorporate a margin for profit, while this market allows traders to adjust probabilities based on their own research and insights. If there's a significant discrepancy, it might indicate that the crowd believes a sportsbook has mispriced the event. Examining these differences can be a valuable part of your overall analysis when considering where to place your bets.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the outcome.
