Prediction market odds often differ from those offered by traditional sportsbooks, reflecting the wisdom of the crowd versus the assessments of professional oddsmakers. Sportsbooks set initial lines to balance their risk, while this market allows anyone to express their belief about the outcome. If a significant number of traders believe a sportsbook’s odds are inaccurate, they can drive the price on Polymarket in a different direction. This can lead to opportunities for arbitrage or simply a more accurate reflection of the true probability of an event occurring. It's important to compare both to form a well-rounded view.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism, where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in a particular outcome. The price of these shares directly reflects the implied probability of that outcome occurring. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate and express their views, the price adjusts to reflect the collective expectation. The market’s price is determined solely by supply and demand within Polymarket, and is not influenced by external factors or a central authority setting the odds.
This market resolves around Oct 27, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official result of the Demin vs Santillan match as reported by recognized sports authorities. Any disputes or ambiguities will be resolved using commonly accepted rules and standards for professional boxing matches. Traders will be able to claim their winnings once the outcome is officially determined and reported, and the market is settled on Polymarket.
Several signals or events could significantly move this market before it resolves.
