Often, prediction market odds offer a different perspective than traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks set lines to balance their risk and incorporate a profit margin, while this market reflects the collective wisdom of traders who are incentivized to be accurate. Discrepancies can arise from differing opinions on player form, injury news, or even subtle biases not captured by sportsbook algorithms. If significant differences exist, it may present opportunities for arbitrage, where traders can profit by exploiting the price difference between the two.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the implied probability of that outcome occurring. As more traders participate, the price adjusts to reflect the aggregated sentiment. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market's price is determined solely by supply and demand within Polymarket, meaning it's driven by the willingness of traders to take either side of the bet.

Several factors could influence the price of this market. Any news regarding player injuries, changes in playing conditions, or even updated rankings could shift trader sentiment. Unexpected results in earlier rounds of the tournament, or strong performances by either player in practice sessions, might also cause movement. Furthermore, large trades on Polymarket by influential traders could temporarily impact the price, though the market typically self-corrects as more information becomes available and more traders participate.
