Frequently asked questions

Typically, prediction market odds reflect a different kind of wisdom than those found at sportsbooks. Sportsbooks often incorporate a 'vig' or commission into their odds, designed to ensure profit, and may be influenced by public betting patterns aiming to balance their risk. This market, however, represents the aggregated predictions of informed individuals who are directly incentivized to be accurate. Therefore, you may find differences in probabilities, with this market potentially offering a more nuanced view of the likely outcome based on informed speculation rather than simply mirroring betting trends.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism, where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the likelihood of each outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the implied probability of that outcome occurring. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate and express their views, the price adjusts to reflect the collective prediction. This dynamic pricing ensures that the market odds remain responsive to new information and changing sentiment surrounding the Guadeloupe vs. St. Lucia match.

This market resolves around Oct 5, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Resolution will be based on which team scores the first goal in the Guadeloupe vs. St. Lucia match. The result will be determined by official match data, ensuring a transparent and objective outcome. Traders will be able to claim their winnings based on the final result as reported by official sources, with the platform facilitating the payout process once the outcome is definitively established.

Several factors could influence trading activity and shift the odds in this market. Any news regarding team lineups, player injuries, or changes in coaching strategies could significantly impact predictions. Unexpected weather conditions at the match location, or even pre-match analysis from respected sports commentators, could also sway trader sentiment. Furthermore, major shifts in public opinion, reflected in polls or social media discussions, might lead to increased trading volume and adjustments to the implied probabilities of each team scoring first.
