Frequently asked questions

Comparing prediction market odds to those offered by sportsbooks reveals how public sentiment differs from professional analysis. Often, prediction markets, like this one, can offer odds that diverge from traditional sportsbooks, particularly when there’s strong public feeling about a specific outcome. This difference can stem from the ‘wisdom of the crowd’ effect, where the collective predictions of many individuals prove more accurate than those of a few experts. It’s important to note that sportsbook odds reflect the bookmaker’s profit margin, while this market represents a more direct assessment of probability.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism, where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in each outcome. The price of a share directly reflects the probability of that outcome occurring, as perceived by the market participants. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The more traders who believe Bonaire will win the second half, the higher the price of shares representing that outcome will climb. This dynamic pricing ensures that the market reflects the latest information and collective intelligence of the traders on Polymarket.

This market resolves around Oct 6, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The result will be determined by which team – Grenada or Bonaire – wins the second half of the match. The platform will rely on official match results to determine the winning outcome. Traders who hold shares in the winning outcome will be entitled to a payout, while those holding shares in the losing outcome will forfeit their investment. The resolution process is designed to be transparent and based on objective data.

Several signals or events could significantly move this market before resolution. Any news regarding team injuries, changes in player lineups, or even weather conditions impacting the match could influence trader sentiment. Unexpected tactical decisions during the first half, or even early goals scored, could also cause a shift in probabilities. Furthermore, large volume trades on Polymarket from informed traders could signal a change in expectations, potentially triggering a cascade of further trading activity and altering the odds for the Grenada vs. Bonaire second half.
