Sportsbooks may incorporate factors like marketing promotions or biases, while this market is driven purely by traders’ willingness to buy or sell based on their own analysis. Comparing the two can reveal interesting insights into public perception versus expert analysis.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in each outcome. The price of a share directly reflects the implied probability of that outcome occurring. As more traders participate, the price adjusts to reflect the collective assessment of the event. These factors could all shift the perceived probabilities and drive trading activity.
