This group forecasts the winner of the Album of the Year award at the 69th Annual Grammy Awards, scheduled for February 7, 2027. The markets allow users to bet on specific albums winning the award, or in the case of Polymarket, a general 'another album' option. Resolution hinges on official Grammy nominations and the ultimate winner announcement.
The GRAMMY Awards are presented annually by the Recording Academy. For the 69th Annual GRAMMY Awards, nominations are scheduled for November 16, 2026, and the ceremony for February 7, 2027. This market will resolve according to the listed album that wins Album of the Year at the 69th Annual GRAMMY Awards. If an album is not officially nominated for Album of the Year when the 69th Annual GRAMMY Awards nominees are announced, the corresponding market will immediately resolve to "No". In case of a tie for the winner, this market will resolve in favor of the nominated album whose listed title comes first in alphabetical order. If, for any reason, no winner is declared by June 30, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, this market will resolve to "Other". The resolution source will be the television broadcast of the awards and the Grammy website (https://www.grammy.com/); however, other credible reporting may be used.
The market resolves to Yes if any of the specified albums receive a nomination for Album of the Year at the 69th Grammy Awards. Each album is evaluated independently; a Yes resolution requires confirmation that at least one album has been officially nominated in this category by the Recording Academy. The Album of the Year category encompasses all musical genres and represents the most comprehensive recognition of artistic achievement at the Grammy Awards.
Prediction market odds often offer a different perspective than traditional analyst forecasts. Analysts may rely on subjective factors like critical reception or industry buzz, while this market reflects the collective wisdom of traders who are putting real capital behind their beliefs. Often, prediction markets can be more accurate, as traders are incentivized to make informed decisions. However, analyst forecasts can provide valuable context and identify potential dark horse candidates that may not be fully priced into this market yet. Both sources of information can be useful when forming an opinion.
Prices on Polymarket and Kalshi can diverge for several reasons. Polymarket and Kalshi can show different implied probabilities for the same outcome because of liquidity, fee structure, participant mix, and how each venue defines the contract. Each platform attracts a different user base with varying risk tolerances and information access. Trading volume also plays a role; higher volume on one platform can lead to more efficient price discovery. Additionally, the specific market structures and fee schedules on each platform can influence trading behavior. Currently, Polymarket currently favors Will you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love (Olivia Rodrigo) win Album of the Year at the 69th Annual GRAMMY Awards? at 39.0%, while Kalshi leans toward 2026 Grammy nominees for Album of the Year? at 94.0%, demonstrating these differences in action.
This market resolves around Nov 1, 2027, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The winner of the Album of the Year award at the 2027 Grammy Awards will determine the outcome. The official announcement from the Recording Academy will be the basis for verification. Traders will have until the resolution time to adjust their positions based on any new information or developments leading up to the award ceremony. The final price will reflect the probability of each artist winning as assessed by the market.
Several signals could significantly impact this market. Major album releases from potential contenders, critical acclaim, and commercial success (sales and streaming numbers) will all be closely watched. Award nominations leading up to the Grammys, such as those from other prominent award shows, can also shift probabilities. Unexpected events, like an artist announcing a tour or a significant media appearance, could also influence trading activity. Finally, any news regarding eligibility or potential controversies surrounding an artist or album could cause fluctuations in this market.
