Prediction market odds, like those found on Polymarket and Kalshi, often reflect the wisdom of the crowd, potentially offering a different perspective than traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and aim to balance action on both sides, incorporating a profit margin. This market, however, is driven by individuals willing to take either side, leading to odds that can be more accurate, especially as more information becomes available. While sportsbooks may initially have an edge, prediction markets can converge on the true probability as trading volume increases and new information surfaces.
