Comparing prediction market odds to sportsbook odds reveals how the wisdom of the crowd differs from professional oddsmakers. Often, prediction markets can offer different insights, particularly as new information emerges or if the crowd perceives an advantage not reflected in traditional betting lines. Discrepancies can arise from varying levels of expertise, access to information, or simply differing opinions on the probabilities of each outcome. Examining these differences can be valuable for informed decision-making, but it's important to remember that both sources represent probabilities based on different methodologies.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism, where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the outcome. The price of a share directly reflects the implied probability of that outcome occurring. As more traders participate and express their views, the price adjusts to reflect the collective assessment. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. This dynamic pricing ensures that the market constantly incorporates new information and adjusts to changing expectations regarding the League of Legends match. The current price indicates what the market believes is the likelihood of a particular result.
This market resolves around Nov 8, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official result of the League of Legends match between Goyang and Sonic Boom, as reported by the official League of Legends esports authorities. The platform will verify the outcome against these sources to determine which outcome corresponds to the winning shares. Traders holding shares in the correct outcome will be entitled to a payout based on the final market price at resolution.
Several signals or events could significantly move this market before resolution. Any news regarding player form, team strategies, or unexpected roster changes for either Goyang or Sonic Boom could impact the perceived probabilities. Major upsets in other matches leading up to the event, or shifts in public sentiment expressed through social media and esports analysis, could also influence trading activity. Furthermore, any official announcements from the League of Legends esports organization regarding the match schedule or format could introduce volatility and shift the market price.
