The market determines which team will win the second half of a scheduled women's professional basketball game between Golden State and Las Vegas. The outcome depends solely on the performance during the second half of regulation time, excluding any overtime periods.
The market resolves based on which team scores the most points during the second half of regulation time in the Golden State vs Las Vegas women's Pro Basketball game scheduled for Oct 9, 2026. If both teams score equally, the market resolves as a Tie. If the game is postponed or delayed, the market remains open until the rescheduled game concludes within two days. If the game is cancelled or rescheduled beyond this window, all markets resolve at a fair price. Overtime periods are excluded from consideration.
Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd, often differing from initial sportsbook lines. Sportsbooks set their odds based on statistical models and expert analysis, while this market aggregates the beliefs of many individual traders. As more information becomes available – such as injury reports or lineup changes – and as the event draws nearer, you may see the odds on Kalshi converge with, or diverge from, those offered by sportsbooks. It’s common to see prediction markets outperform traditional odds in accuracy.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders buy and sell contracts representing their belief about the second-half winner. The price of a contract reflects the probability of that outcome occurring, as perceived by the market participants. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Traders are incentivized to provide accurate predictions, as profitable trades are rewarded. The more traders who believe a particular team will win, the higher the price of that contract will climb, and vice versa. This dynamic pricing mechanism creates a real-time assessment of probabilities.
This market resolves around Oct 10, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The winning team of the second half of the Golden State vs Las Vegas game will determine the settlement of this market. The official results from the game will be used to verify the outcome. Traders holding contracts on the winning team will receive a payout, while those holding contracts on the losing team will not. The final result will be publicly available following the game’s completion.
Several factors could significantly influence this market. Any news regarding player injuries or changes to the starting lineups for either the Golden State or Las Vegas teams would likely cause shifts in the odds. Unexpected coaching decisions or adjustments to game strategy could also impact trader sentiment. Furthermore, real-time performance during the first half of the game, and any momentum swings, can lead to rapid price adjustments on Kalshi as traders react to the unfolding events. Public perception and late-breaking news coverage could also play a role.
