This set of markets tracks the total points scored by both teams during the second quarter of an upcoming college football game. Participants predict whether the combined score will exceed specific thresholds, offering various levels of difficulty for forecasting offensive performance in that particular quarter.
These markets resolve based on the total points scored by both teams combined during the second quarter of the Georgia versus Alabama college football game scheduled for October 10, 2026. Each market has a different threshold for resolution, ranging from more than 2.5 points to more than 27.5 points. If the collective points exceed the specified threshold for a given market, it resolves to Yes; otherwise, it resolves to No. All markets consider only points scored during the second quarter of play. If the game is postponed but commences within 48 hours of its original scheduled start time, all markets remain open and resolve based on the official final result. If the game does not start within 48 hours of the original time, all markets resolve to a fair price, ensuring equitable treatment for all participants regardless of the specific outcome thresholds.
Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd, often aligning closely with sportsbook odds, but sometimes diverging based on unique information or perspectives held by traders. Sportsbooks set initial lines based on statistical models and expert analysis, while this market allows individuals to trade on their own beliefs. Discrepancies can arise due to differing risk assessments or the influence of public sentiment. It’s common to see prediction markets incorporate information faster than sportsbooks, especially in response to late-breaking news or unexpected developments affecting the game.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous double auction, meaning traders buy and sell contracts representing potential outcomes. The price of a contract reflects the probability of that outcome occurring, as perceived by the market participants. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate, the price converges towards a consensus view. Currently, the price indicates the collective expectation of the total points scored in the second quarter. Traders are constantly adjusting their positions based on new information and their own analysis, creating a dynamic pricing mechanism.
This market resolves around Oct 11, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The final score of the second quarter between Georgia and Alabama will be used to determine the winning contracts. The total points scored by both teams during the second quarter will be the determining factor. Resolution will occur shortly after the conclusion of the second quarter, ensuring a timely and accurate settlement of all outstanding contracts on Kalshi.
Several factors could influence this market before resolution. Any news regarding key player injuries for either Georgia or Alabama would likely cause significant movement. Changes in weather conditions, particularly if they are expected to impact the game’s scoring environment, could also shift the market. Unexpected announcements about coaching strategies or team formations could also play a role. Furthermore, any significant shifts in public sentiment, perhaps driven by pre-game analysis or expert predictions, could influence trading activity and alter the price of contracts in this market.
