This set of markets focuses on predicting the total points scored by both teams in the second half of an upcoming college football game. Bettors can choose from various thresholds to wager on whether the combined scoring will exceed specific values.
All markets resolve based on the total points scored by both teams during the second half (including overtime) of the Georgia vs Alabama college football game scheduled for October 10, 2026. Each market has a different threshold, ranging from 2.5 to 41.5 points; if the combined second-half points exceed the specified threshold, the market resolves to 'Yes.' If the game is postponed but starts within 48 hours of the original time, the markets remain open and resolve based on the final result. If the game does not start within 48 hours, all markets resolve to a fair price. Only points scored in the second half count toward resolution.
Generally, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can sometimes differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and need to account for profit margins, while this market is driven purely by traders’ beliefs about the outcome. It’s common to see this market move independently of sportsbook lines, especially as new information emerges or public sentiment shifts. Polls and analysts’ predictions often align more closely with the prediction market than with sportsbook odds, as both attempt to forecast the most likely result based on available data.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders buy and sell contracts representing different total point outcomes for the second half. The price of a contract indicates the probability of that specific total occurring. As more traders buy contracts for a particular outcome, the price increases, and vice versa. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. This dynamic pricing mechanism allows the market to quickly incorporate new information and reflect the collective expectations of all participants. The current price reflects the aggregated assessment of all traders on the platform.
This market resolves around Oct 11, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the official total points scored in the second half of the Georgia versus Alabama football game is verifiable from credible public reporting. The final score, as reported by official sources, will determine which contracts pay out and at what value. Traders will be able to see the final result reflected in their account balances shortly after the game concludes and the official score is confirmed. The market’s resolution is based on the actual game result.
Several factors could influence the price of this market before the game concludes. Any news regarding key player injuries to either the Georgia or Alabama teams would likely cause significant movement. Changes in weather forecasts, particularly if they suggest conditions favorable to high or low scoring, could also impact trading activity. Even late-breaking news about coaching strategies or team morale could shift expectations and affect the price. Public sentiment, as reflected in social media and sports news, can also play a role in driving trading volume and price fluctuations.
