These markets track the total points scored by both teams in the second half of a college football game, including any overtime periods. Each market has a different threshold for the total points needed to resolve as 'Yes'.
All markets resolve based on the total points scored by both teams during the second half (including overtime) of the Georgia Tech vs Pittsburgh college football game scheduled for October 31, 2026. Each market has a specific threshold (ranging from 2.5 to 41.5 points); if the combined second-half points exceed the threshold, the market resolves to 'Yes'. If the game is postponed but starts within 48 hours of the original time, the markets remain open and resolve based on the final result. If the game does not start within 48 hours, all markets resolve to a fair price. Only points scored in the second half count toward these markets.
Generally, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd, often converging with sportsbook odds as the event approaches. However, differences can emerge due to varying levels of information and analytical approaches. Sportsbooks set lines based on statistical models and expert analysis, while this market incorporates the collective predictions of many individuals. It’s common to see prediction markets offer slightly different probabilities than traditional sportsbooks, especially early on, as information becomes available and the market matures. Observing these differences can provide insight into public perception versus professional analysis.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders buy and sell contracts. The price of a contract represents the probability of the event occurring – in this case, the total points scored in the second half being over or under 19.5. As more traders buy 'over' contracts, the price increases, indicating a higher perceived probability. Conversely, increased selling of 'over' contracts lowers the price. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market dynamically adjusts to reflect the collective expectations of all participants, creating a real-time assessment of the potential outcome.
This market resolves around Nov 1, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The final score of the second half of the Georgia Tech versus Pittsburgh football game will be used to determine whether the total points scored exceeded 19.5. The resolution will be based on official game statistics, ensuring an accurate and transparent outcome. Traders who correctly predicted the result will receive a payout based on the final market price at resolution.
Several factors could influence the price of this market. Any news regarding key player injuries for either Georgia Tech or Pittsburgh would likely have a significant impact, as it affects scoring potential. Changes in weather conditions, particularly if they are expected to be adverse, could also move the market. In-game performance during the first half, especially if one team establishes a dominant lead or demonstrates a particular offensive or defensive strategy, could shift trader sentiment. Unexpected coaching decisions or late-breaking news related to team dynamics could also contribute to price fluctuations.
