Frequently asked questions

Generally, prediction market odds tend to reflect the wisdom of the crowd, often proving more accurate than traditional sportsbook odds, particularly closer to the event. Sportsbooks incorporate a 'vig' or commission into their odds, ensuring profit, while this market allows traders to directly assess probabilities. However, initial odds on Polymarket may differ from those found at sportsbooks due to varying levels of information and differing participant biases. It’s common to see the prediction market odds converge towards a more accurate probability as more information becomes available and trading volume increases.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism. Traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in each possible outcome—Genoa scoring first, Juventus scoring first, or neither team scoring in the first half. The price of each share reflects the collective probability assigned to that outcome by all traders. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate and new information emerges, the prices adjust dynamically, providing a real-time assessment of the event's potential outcomes. The total volume traded influences the liquidity and stability of the market prices.

This market resolves around Oct 28, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Resolution will depend on which team, if any, scores first in the first half of the Genoa CFC versus Juventus FC match. Official match data will be used to determine the winning outcome. The market will then settle, and shares will be redeemed based on the final result. Traders should monitor official sources for confirmation of the first goalscorer in the first half to understand when this market is finalized.

Several factors could significantly influence trading activity in this market. Any news regarding key player injuries or suspensions for either Genoa or Juventus would likely cause shifts in the odds. Team formations announced shortly before the match, tactical previews from reputable analysts, and even weather conditions could all impact trader sentiment. Unexpected pre-match announcements, such as changes in management or significant team news, could also lead to substantial price movements. Monitoring these signals will be crucial for understanding how this market evolves leading up to Oct 28, 2026.
