Description

In the upcoming match between Genoa CFC and AC Milan, scheduled for November 8, 2026 at 9:00 AM ET: This market will resolve to "Genoa CFC" if Genoa CFC are the first to score in the first half (first 45 minutes of regular play plus first-half stoppage time). This market will resolve to "AC Milan" if AC Milan are the first to score in the first half (first 45 minutes of regular play plus first-half stoppage time). If neither team scores in the first half (first 45 minutes of regular play plus first-half stoppage time), this market will resolve to "Neither". If the game is postponed, this market will remain open until the game has been completed. If the game is canceled entirely, with no make-up game, this market will resolve to "Neither". This market refers only to goals scored within the first 45 minutes of regular play plus first-half stoppage time. Second-half goals, extra time, and penalty shoot-outs are excluded. Recognizable abbreviations, alternate or erroneous spellings, sponsor names, regional identifiers, and minor formatting differences in a team's or player's name will not affect resolution, provided the intended team or player can be clearly and uniquely identified as a participant in the listed fixture or competition. If a listed name has no reasonable connection to any participant, or could reasonably refer to more than one participant such that the intended team or player cannot be determined, this market will resolve as it would if the listed fixture had been canceled entirely; a listed participant who cannot be identified does not count as inactive or absent. The primary resolution source for this market will be official match information from Serie A (https://www.legaseriea.it/). If the governing body or event organizers have not published final statistics within 2 hours of the event's conclusion, data from Flashscore may be used; if Flashscore data is unavailable, data from Sofascore may be used; if neither is available, a consensus of credible reporting may be used. Revisions to officially declared final scores made after market resolution will not be accounted for in determining the outcome. If no acceptable data is available within 24 hours of the event's conclusion, this market will resolve 50-50, or to "Draw" where applicable.

Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks often set initial lines to balance action, while this market allows traders to freely adjust probabilities based on their own research and insights. If there's a significant disparity, it may indicate that the market believes a sportsbook has mispriced the event. However, it’s important to remember that both represent probabilities of an outcome, and discrepancies can arise due to differing information or risk assessments. It's common to see convergence as the event approaches.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in each outcome. The price of a share directly reflects the implied probability of that outcome occurring. As more traders participate, the price adjusts to reflect the collective assessment of the event. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The current implied probability of AC Milan scoring first in the first half is 48.5%, based on the trading activity observed on the platform. The market's price is driven entirely by supply and demand among traders.

This market resolves around Nov 8, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Specifically, the outcome will be determined by which team – Genoa CFC or AC Milan – scores the first goal during the first half of the match. The platform will verify the result against official match data to determine the winning outcome. Traders holding shares in the winning outcome will be entitled to a payout, while those holding shares in the losing outcome will forfeit their investment.

Several factors could influence the price of this market. Any news regarding key player injuries or suspensions for either Genoa or AC Milan would likely cause a shift in probabilities. Changes in team form, tactical adjustments announced by the managers, or even weather conditions on match day could also impact trader sentiment. Unexpected news about team morale or internal conflicts could also move the market. Finally, large trading volume from informed traders could signal a shift in expectations and cause significant price movement.
