Frequently asked questions

Often, prediction market odds reflect a different perspective than those found at traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks typically incorporate a 'vig' or commission into their odds, while Polymarket allows traders to directly express their beliefs about the probability of each outcome. This can lead to discrepancies, especially when there's strong public sentiment or information asymmetry. Examining these differences can highlight where the 'wisdom of the crowd' on Polymarket diverges from professional oddsmakers’ assessments of the GAIS vs. Sirius second half result.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in each possible outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the implied probability of that outcome occurring. As more traders participate, the market price adjusts to reflect the collective forecast. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The current price movement is driven by factors such as team form, injuries, and recent match results, all interpreted by traders on Polymarket.

This market resolves around Oct 10, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official result of the second half of the GAIS vs. IK Sirius match. Specifically, it will determine whether a goal was scored in the second half, and if so, which team scored it. The platform will then verify this information against official sources to finalize the market.

Several factors could significantly influence this market before resolution. Any news regarding key player injuries or suspensions for either GAIS or IK Sirius would likely cause price adjustments. A change in weather conditions, particularly if it favors one team's playing style, could also shift sentiment. Furthermore, any significant tactical changes announced by either manager, or unexpected lineup decisions, could impact the perceived probabilities and move this market on Polymarket as traders react to the new information.
