Frequently asked questions

Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks often set initial lines based on statistical models and expert analysis, but may also incorporate a profit margin. This market, however, is driven by traders who are incentivized to accurately predict the outcome. If a significant discrepancy emerges between prediction market prices and sportsbook odds, arbitrage opportunities may arise, attracting traders who seek to profit from the difference. It’s common to see prediction markets converge towards what many consider the 'true' probability as the event approaches.

This market resolves around Oct 17, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The outcome will be determined by which team – Fulham or Hull City – scores the first goal in the first half of the match. Official match data will be used to verify the result. The platform will then distribute payouts to traders who correctly predicted the outcome, based on the share price at the time of resolution. Any disputes will be handled according to Polymarket’s established procedures.

Several factors could influence trading activity and shift the odds in this market. Late-breaking news regarding team lineups, injuries to key players, or changes in weather conditions could all impact traders' assessments. Significant pre-match analysis from reputable sports commentators or unexpected betting patterns in traditional sportsbooks could also move the market. Furthermore, any in-game events during the first half, even before a goal is scored, might cause traders to adjust their positions, leading to price fluctuations. Overall team form and recent head-to-head results are also likely to be considered.
