Frequently asked questions

Often, prediction market odds reflect a different perspective than those found at traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and ensure profit, while this market represents the collective wisdom of traders who are incentivized to accurately forecast the outcome. Discrepancies can arise due to differing information, biases, or simply the dynamics of each venue. If you find a significant difference between the implied probability here and sportsbook odds, it could indicate an opportunity for value betting, depending on your own assessment of the event.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the likelihood of each outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the implied probability of that outcome occurring. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate and new information becomes available, the prices adjust, reflecting the evolving consensus. The market's depth and volume indicate the level of confidence and activity surrounding each potential result.

This market resolves around Oct 23, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Resolution will be based on the official result of the Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks versus Nippon Ham Fighters championship series. The winning team, as declared by the NPB, will determine the outcome of this market. Traders who correctly predicted the winning team will be paid out according to the final share price at the time of resolution.

Several factors could influence this market. Key player injuries or unexpected performance changes for either the Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks or the Nippon Ham Fighters would likely cause significant shifts in the odds. News regarding team strategies, pitching rotations, or managerial decisions could also impact trader sentiment. Furthermore, any major upsets in preceding playoff rounds or changes in public perception of each team’s chances could lead to substantial price movements in this market.
