Prediction market odds, like those found on Polymarket and Predict, often reflect the wisdom of the crowd, potentially offering a different perspective than traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks set initial lines based on their own analysis, incorporating factors like team statistics and expert opinions. This market, however, allows anyone to trade on their beliefs, leading to odds that can diverge from sportsbook lines as new information emerges or public sentiment shifts. Differences can arise due to varying levels of information access, differing risk assessments, or simply the influence of diverse opinions among market participants.
Polymarket and Predict can show different implied probabilities for the same outcome because of liquidity, fee structure, participant mix, and how each venue defines the contract. Prices on Polymarket and Predict may differ due to variations in user base, trading activity, and market design. Polymarket might attract a different type of trader than Predict, leading to differing opinions being reflected in the prices. Additionally, the liquidity and volume on each platform can influence price discovery. A higher volume on one platform can lead to more efficient price discovery, while lower volume may result in greater price volatility. These factors contribute to the possibility of discrepancies in the odds offered for the Frosinone vs Sassuolo second half.
