Description

These markets track how many points are scored in the final quarter of a college football game between Fresno State and San Diego State. Each market has a different threshold for the total points scored by both teams combined during that specific period.

Kalshi

All markets resolve based on the total points scored by both teams combined during the 4th quarter (excluding overtime) of the Fresno State vs San Diego State college football game scheduled for October 17, 2026. For each market, if the collective points exceed the specified threshold (e.g., 2.5, 5.5, up to 27.5 points), the market resolves to 'Yes'; otherwise, it resolves to 'No'. If the game is postponed but starts within 48 hours of the original time, the markets remain open and resolve based on the final result. If the game does not start within 48 hours of the scheduled time, all markets resolve to a fair price. Only points scored during the 4th quarter (excluding overtime) count toward these markets.

Prediction market odds often differ from traditional sportsbook odds due to the different incentives and information sources driving each. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and ensure profit, while this market reflects the collective wisdom of traders who are incentivized to accurately predict the outcome. Generally, prediction markets tend to be more accurate than traditional forecasts, especially closer to the event. However, sportsbook odds can be a useful benchmark for understanding public perception and comparing potential value in this market. Discrepancies can arise from differing analyses or varying levels of information available to each group.

On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders buy and sell contracts representing potential outcomes. The price of a contract reflects the market's assessment of the probability of that outcome occurring. As more traders buy into a particular outcome, its price increases, and vice versa. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. This dynamic pricing mechanism allows the market to rapidly incorporate new information and adjust its predictions accordingly. The current price represents the cost to take a position on a specific 4th quarter total, and reflects the aggregated beliefs of all participants.

This market resolves around Oct 18, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The final 4th quarter total score of the Fresno State vs San Diego State football game will be used to determine the winning contracts. The resolution will be based on official game statistics as reported by a trusted sports data provider. Traders will be able to view the final result and confirm their payouts shortly after the game concludes. This ensures a transparent and verifiable outcome for all participants.

Several signals could influence this market before resolution. Any news regarding key player injuries for either Fresno State or San Diego State would likely cause significant movement. Changes in weather forecasts, particularly if they suggest adverse playing conditions, could also impact trading activity. Late-breaking news about coaching strategies or team morale might also play a role. Furthermore, large volume trades on Kalshi itself can create momentum and shift prices, as can shifts in public opinion reflected in sportsbook lines. The closer we get to Oct 18, 2026, the more sensitive the market will be to these types of events.
